Hello I’m Aliss and I’m the one-woman creative daydreamer behind The Idle Hands Club. Although officially set-up during the pandemic in 2020, the idea of TIHC had been brewing for many years before.
With many self-taught crafts under my belt, including lino printing and sewing, embroidery caught my imagination. I discovered the art of embroidery relaxing and slow; the perfect outlet for my anxiety. Stitch by stitch I learnt the basics and soon felt comfortable designing my own hoops for family and friends. My love for lettering and design permeates through what I make, often capturing a mood or feeling which becomes very therapeutic!
With a focus on pop culture references and a modern twist on a traditional craft, The Idle Hands Club strives to make unique handcrafted pieces to wear and for the home.
I hope TIHC inspires other idle hand creatives to learn embroidery and fall in love with the craft like I did. As I like to say, busy hands are happy hands!
Keep supporting small businesses and welcome to the club!
